I was drawn to the minimalism and simple graphic qualities in this image of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown, MA. With all of the technology at our disposal, and popular trends such as HDR (high dynamic range) it has sometimes becomes an automatic response to present as much detail as possible – because we can.
Although many photographers, myself included, often struggle and strive to have shadow details, it works much better for me this way. Less is more. Simple is better.
